Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL – A 44-year-old man was arrested by Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP on March 28, 2025, after being found in possession of opioids following a vehicle crash.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Friday, officers on patrol encountered a single-vehicle crash on Cabot Crescent. The driver, identified as Darryl Dyson, was operating the vehicle while under a suspended licence. Upon further investigation, police discovered a quantity of suspected morphine pills and nearly $3,000 in cash in Dyson’s possession.
Dyson was taken into custody and later appeared in court on March 31, 2025. He was released under several conditions and now faces multiple charges, including:
-Possession of a controlled substance
-Failure to comply with a release order
-Operating a vehicle with a suspended licence
The RCMP has confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges. Dyson is scheduled to appear in court again on May 15, 2025.
